This place is a little gem. We often pass by but we are so happy to have finally stopped in for a meal. The whole experience was phenomenal. Our waitress Mallory was excellent; attentive, funny, and made us feel so welcome. The food was so fresh and delicious. We had the potato skins, the special of the day, mediterranean chicken, steak, and baked brie. They were all excellent. We can't wait to go back. The neighbouring table got fish and chips and they looked to die for. The Christmas decor was beautiful too!

We ordered "bangers and mash", shepherd's pie, poutine, cod fish and chips, and toffee pudding. Exceptional! The food came out hot and sizzling. My hubby's only wish was that the cod had more flavor. My son loved his bangers and mash. I loved the shepherd's pie and the toffee pudding was like a trip back in time, reminding me of my mom's plum pudding with hard sauce. Just added this to my Canadian hit list and it was a refreshing contrast to the French restaurants that we visited in Montreal. Made me feel like I was visiting Britain, if only for a wee bit. Very friendly staff!

Despite being short staffed our server was a pure example of making the best out of a shitty situation. We felt welcomed right when walked in. He was extremely friendly, good sense of humour and was giving us his suggestions on the menu because everything we all picked was amazing. Really wish we grabbed his name but he was the tall blonde dude! If you’re seeing this keep up the good work and thank you for making our experience a good one. Do yourself the favour and get the sticky toffee pudding

Great lunch today with no wait as we were there around 11:30 am. We ordered the calamari appetizer. It’s crispy with the right amount of seasoning. Also ordered the poutine. The gravy was quite tasty and silky with a good amount of cheese curds. Then the highlight was the fish and chips. The 2 pieces were a better deal for 2 persons and ordered both the Halibut and Haddock options for 4 of us. The fish was very fresh and the light batter was almost like a tempura batter, light and crispy. The chips were soft on the inside and crispy outside. So I said crispy 3 times so you get the idea and image! It was pretty cold and rainy and the server kindly fulfilled our request for hot water and lemon. Delectable and a must stop in Gananoque!!

2024 update! My bestie and I returned twice in the last two months and everything is as incredible as the first time! We were just there again tonight and our server was Hunter and he is absolutely amazing as a server. Fun, engaging and adorable! Thank you Hunter! We can't wait to come back. Absolutely fantastic. First time in Gan, we decided on this restaurant after the 3 hour cruise. We were attended for seating right away. We chose the library themed room, cozy. Waitress was extremely attentive and friendly. Our food was delivered to the table, hot and fresh. We had the cod fish & chips with creamy slaw salad. Everything was perfect. Neither the dish, or the fries were greasy in the slightest. The tartar sauce & slaw were perfection. 10/10 will be back to try something else from the menu. Dessert options looked amazing, but we were too full.

We've been here a few times. The staff are always friendly. Home town feel. We enjoyed the fish and chips special and local cider. Recommended checking out this hidden gem in Gan!
